Internet Marketing

I have been working with websites quite a long, and the next step you need to make after the successful creation of a website is to promote it! Making the best website in the world doesn't mean anything if the only one who knows it is... yourself!

There are many different ways to promote your website. Each one of them having a different advantage than the others, a different cost and a different target user group. Deciding what is best for the promotion of your own website is not something easy. I can help you select the option that best fits your budget and needs:

Facebook Ads, Pages, Groups, Applications

The latest trend in internet advertising is using the social networking websites. The most famous of them being Facebook. Facebook gives a wide range of services through which you can promote your website. These includes from paid ads (with the option of targeting specific types of user groups), to the creation of groups and/or pages that represent your website.

Finally, applications can be created that run inside Facebook's website bringing content / news / services from your own website to Facebook users. This kind of promotion is very powerful and extremely tricky in it's implementation.

Google Ads, Google Analytics

Google is the world's best, biggest and fastest search engine! BUT Google as a company delivers a wide range of services that can help you monitor your visitors, your sites traffic and promote it through a very flexible advertising system! Depending on your budget you can use Google's advertising system to create awareness for your site by either entering the "Sponsored Website" list or using the AdWords / AdSense services to display your website's banner to thousands of potential visitors.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Last but not least is your website's PAGE RANK. This is a number (see wiki for more) from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest) that shows the "weight" your website has inside google's search engine system. THe highest your rank the more "important" your website is for Google, and so it will crawl it more often (so changes you make in your website are updated to google's engine more frequently), and it will show it higher in a search result!

Earning a high page rank is a time consuming job. It requires the implementation of various techniques and the discipline in following a specific set of rules! It can be achieved with lower costs than other Internet Marketing solutions (if you know what you are doing), and it will always be a much more efficient way of increasing your website's traffic

At the time of writing this page's page rank was 3, while SingularLogic's portal was 7. For the ".gr" domain names, the highest page rank would be 8 and it is owned by! So, for a personal website a page rank of 3 is more than enough to bring my website in the 3rd place when googling my own name ("Konstantinos Manos").

S.E.O. stands for Search Engine Optimization. This includes different techniques / rules you need to follow to get most out of the Search Engines. The better your SEO, the better your page rankings. Some of the things you need to do are:

  • Efficient use of page titles
  • Correct use of Meta Tags (Keywords and Description)
  • Content that "boosts" your keywords

Having Search Engine Friendly URLs to your site, will enable the search engines to crawl and categorize your site's pages in much more efficient way.

Page Rank

Page rank is a number from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest) that shows the "value" of your website for Google's search engine. The highest the number the higher your position in a search result list will be.
